It was back to work Sunday for more than 600 union workers across five Connecticut nursing homes, who had been on strike for eight months.

The workers at homes owned by New Jersey-based HealthBridge were ordered reinstated by a Judge in December after it was ruled HealthBridge negotiated unfairly. After a court battle, the union won and now it’s back to business as normal.

HealthBridge has filed for bankruptcy for the five Connecticut homes amid concerns it wouldn’t be able to pay for the pension and full cost of health insurance of the workers without losing so much money that it’d force the facilities to close.
