Norwich Police Department patch. From Norwich Police Department web site.
A law enforcement source in Norwich says 41 shots were fired by seven officers last Sunday night at a despondent man who was killed when six of those shots hit him.
The man, Michael Dugas, was pointing what turned out to be a fake handgun at the officers and failed to listen to orders so he was shot. It was the city’s fourth officer-involved shooting in just over a year.
All seven officers have been placed on administrative leave during the investigation.
