HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and two of his commissioners are trying to drum up recycling business in Connecticut as a way to boost the industry in the state and create jobs.

Malloy, environmental commissioner Daniel Esty and economic development commissioner Catherine Smith are scheduled to speak Thursday about recycling and other reuse of materials businesses in the state.

Leaders of the legislature, officials of state agencies and others will answer questions and provide information.

Industries that re-use, recycle and recover materials include businesses that collect, sort and market recyclable materials for sale to businesses that turn them into new products.

The Malloy administration has made the industry a priority. The state Department of Energy and Environmental Policy sponsored a forum last year to bring together businesses and others interested in recycling.
