A water rescue was made around 7:48 p.m. Monday night near Captain’s Cove in Bridgeport in the area of Yacht Street and Bostwick Avenue.

The police and fire departments responded. A female was removed from the water with the assistance of civilians prior to the arrival of the fire department.

The woman was transported by ambulance to Saint Vincent’s Medical Center in Brdigeport and treated for hypothermia.

At this point, it remains unclear how she ended up in the water.

Her name has not been released.
