UConn Football Player Injured In Crash

Saturday morning, UConn football player Martin Hyppolite was hurt in a traffic accident on Route 4 in Durham, New Hampshire.

In a written statement, Durham, New Hamshire Police said he was seriously hurt, and was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

He was a passenger in a 2004 Chrysler that collided with a 2000 Buick.  The driver of the Buick, 74-year-old Bruce Larson, was killed in the crash.

Police say the driver of the vehicle Hyppolite was in, Ryan Merchant, was also seriously injured.

The two vehicles were driving in opposite directions, at the time of the collision.

Police are investigating the crash.

On the field, Hyppolite was a running back last season.  He played in twelve games in 2012, after missing all of 2011 with a knee injury.
