A Voluntown woman died in a crash in Griswold late Sunday morning when she veered off the road and crash into a metal beam guardrail and utility pole.
Gloria Barrie, 76, was trying to go around the right side of someone turning left when she clipped the passenger mirror and lost control on Route 138.
The woman driving the other car, Debbie Pezzente, 51, was OK.
