Kayaker Discovers Body In Connecticut River

A kayaker on the Connecticut River called Middletown Police around 10:40am on Saturday reporting a man’s body in the river. Authorities located the body floating just south of the Cromwell town line, close to the shore, but down a steep embankment along Route-9.

A fire department crew managed to recover the body from the water and hoist it up the embankment.

Police say the man has been initially identified, but further information has not been released pending a positive identification of the man. Authorities do not suspect foul play.
