Gas prices in the US are the highest they have ever been, in any month of February, according to Connecticut Energy Marketers Association official Gene Guilford.
Guilford was a guest on WTIC’s Face Connecticut.
“Given the fact that we have extraordinarily plentiful supply, and demand is down, for the gasoline contract to go up almost 45 cents a gallon in 90 days is a disgrace,” Guilford said.
He blames speculation by investors for the increase. Guilford represents gas distributors and home heating oil dealers.
But some other experts say increased foreign demand for crude oil is pushing up gas prices in the US.
