Pedestrian Struck in Southington Dies

SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (AP) _ Police in Connecticut are seeking the driver of a car that struck three young restaurant workers this week as they walked home from work, killing one.

Police said 23-year-old Yan Qiao “Joanne” Chen died Friday from injuries she received Tuesday night when she was hit on Queen Street in Southington. Police said two other young women had serious but not life-threatening injuries. They were leaving the Gobi Mongolian Grill where they worked.

WVIT-TV, NBC   Connecticut, reports (http://bit.ly/WwFgOm) that police say 23-year-old Huai “Emily” Liu is still hospitalized in stable condition. Twenty-three-year-old Yang “Rita” Hong was released from the hospital on Thursday.
Police say the vehicle that hit them without stopping may have been an SUV, possibly white or red, and was last seen traveling north on Queen Street.
