
For the second time in as many weeks, the BP gas station at 176 Tolland Turnpike in Manchester was robbed, this happening around 9:20 p.m. Friday.
The suspect (depicted in the store surveillance photo) displayed a silver automatic handgun and demanded money from the clerk before going behind the register and taking an unknown quantity of Newport cigarettes. The suspect is described as a light skin black male wearing a red sweatshirt, black pants and carrying a red and black gym type bag. The suspect was also wearing green or blue gloves and fled on foot east on Tolland Turnpike towards the Baymount Inn possibly to a waiting vehicle.
A witness described a black vehicle possibly a Ford Taurus leaving the parking lot just after the robbery.

The prior robbery happened on Feb. 6 and involved a knifepoint robbery. No one has been injured in either case.
