Fire Officers Charged In Sex Assault Of Junior Firefighters

Two former leaders of the Coventry Volunteer Fire Association are facing sexual assault charges.  Police say their investigation determined that the two had been having sexual relations with members of the association’s Junior Firefighter program.  They say current leaders of the CVFA have cooperated in the investigation.

Former chief and current training officer Joseph Carilli and Lt. Joe Fragoso are charged.  Police say the two are charged with having illicit relations with members of the junior firefighters. Fragoso is free on $250-thousand bond and is due in court February 27th.

Carilli is facing sexual assault and risk of injury charges.  He’s being held on a half million dollars bond pending his appearance in court later today.
