Fugitive Captured In Norwich Shooting

On Feb. 7, at 12 p.m. members of the Norwich Police Department Detective Division arrested a Norwich fugitive for a shooting incident that occurred on July 2, 2011 on Central Avenue.

Reginald Dixon, 23, is charged with criminal attempt at murder and first-degree assault.

The shooting left the 19-year-old male victim paralyzed from the waist down.

Dixon was arrested by the Cabarrus County Sheriffs Office in Concord, North Carolina for unrelated charges and held as a fugitive after they discovered he was wanted by the Norwich Police Department. Dixon waived extradition and was brought back to Connecticut.

Dixon is currently being held on a $1,000,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Norwich Superior Court Feb. 8.
