Bristol Police: Arrest In Overnight Attempted Burglary

Bristol Police arrested city man Alexander Williams, 20, this morning for an attempted burglary overnight at the Chippens Hill Convenience Store at 192 Terryville Avenue.

A police officer observed a broken front window at the store and later observed a vehicle parked in the back that took off as the officer approached. The vehicle was then located in the Divinity Street area, but the suspect was not found. Williams was later located and took off upon questioning from police, but ran into a utility pole support wire and was apprehended, suffering minor injuries.

Williams is charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary, Conspiracy to Commit Burglary Third Degree and Interfering with An Officer. He is currently being held on a $50,000 bond pending his Arraignment in Bristol Superior Court later today.
