A 23-year-old Cheshire woman has been arrested in a November accident in which a 90-year-old Bristol woman was killed.
Police say Melissa Maddaloni was criminal negligient in operation of her vehicle and is charged with second degree manslaughter in the case. She’s also charged with operating with a suspended license, misconduct with a motor vehicle and defective brakes.
Police say the brakes on her vehicle failed on a steep hill on Willis Street and maddaloni drove through the stop sign and into the intersection at South Street, hitting an eastbound vehicle on South Street at 66 miles an hour.
The front-seat passenger in that vehicle, 90-year-old Wanda Belisle of Bristol died of her injuries.
