Governor Malloy has named a new Victim Advocate for Connecticut,  to replace Michelle Cruz,  whose term expired last April.

The governor named Garvin Ambrose,  currently Executive Assistant State’s Attorney and Legislative Liason in the Cook County, Illinois, State’s Attorney’s Office.  Malloy praised Ambrose’s “notable background working on behalf of victims and advocating for the policy changes that are necessary to preserve their rights and serve their needs.”

Malloy says Ambrose was the unanimous first choice of the panel that screened candidates for the job.
