A construction worker was injured today in an accident at a project connected to the Hartford to New Britain busway.
West Hartford Fire Department Battalion Chief Richard Winn says the mishap took place about 25-feet in the air, near Flatbush Avenue.
“The I-beam they were using to move things suddenly shifted, and struck one of the workers,” Winn said.
It was not immediately clear why the I-beam shifted.
The worker was conscious, when he was taken to Hartford Hospital.
A bridge is being built in that area.
The busway’s formal name is CTfastrak.
