Coventry police say a man returning home to a house on Coventry Turnpike just before midnight Wednesday was assaulted and robbed as he got out of his vehicle.

Police say the suspect demanded valuables and fled on foot.  They say there may ave been a car waiting for him.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Police say they do not think it was a random crime.
