Rentschler Field in East Hartford will host one of this summer’s soccer Gold Cup events this summer.
The twelve-team competition is held every two years by the member countries of the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football, CONCACAF.
Countries which have qualified for the national team tournament are Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Martinique, Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago and the United States. The final spot will be decided this week in a match between Guatemala and Panama.
Other venues around the country hosting the competition in July include Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, Atlanta’s Georgia Dome and Soldier Field in Chicago.
