Waterbury school officials say students were evacuated from Wilby High School and the North End Middle School for a while this morning,  after a gas odor was detected in the complex on Bucks Hill Road. .

The students  were kept on buses while the situation was checked out and the buildings were ventilated.  Students were returned to the classrooms before 10 a.m.
