The Metropolitan District Commission is working on two water main breaks in Hartford and West Hartford this morning.
The first, on Dart Street, in Hartford, is in a six-inch main, and affects about 15 customers along a section of Dart between Chandler and Broadview. The problem was originaly reported shortly before 7 a.m. and the MDC expects to have service restored between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
A second break affects an eight-inch break on Prospect Street at Kane. The number of customers affected is uncertain at this point, but includes businesses and restaurants at the Prospect Shopping Center. Water was continuing to pour into the street, and public works sand trucks were called in to deal with slippery conditions.
