The Department of Motor Vehicles Wethersfield office was evacuated after a bomb threat Thursday afternoon.  A spokesman says when the threat was phoned in,  Wethersfield and State Police were called and staff and members of the public were evacuated.

Dogs were called in to search, and the building was closed to the public.  Employees who had their car keys were allowed to leave for the day.  Other employees waited in another building until they were able to go in to retrieve their personal belongings.

The threat was non-specific,  and no device was found.

Normally the building would have been open later on a Thursday evening.  It will open at 7:45 a.m. Friday and closed at 12:30 p.m. because of the Monday holiday.
