Bridgeport Teen Charged With Facebook Threats Against Central High

Bridgeport police say a student at Central High School has been arrested after the 16-year-old posted threatening statements on his Facebook page.

Police say the teen wrote he would kill fellow students.  When the post was brought to the attention of police,  they obtained a search warrant and searched his home about 10 Wednesday night.  No weapons were found.

The teen,  whose name was not released because of his age,   was charged with first-degree threatening and will appear in Juvenile Court.

School Superintendant Paul Vallas thanked police for their quick response.  He said consolidation of school security and Bridgeport city police means they’re able to “respond aggressively and appropriately to keep our students safe in situations such as this.”
