Naugatuck Police have arrested  two men  in connection with an assault  at 8 Pond Street early Wednesday morning. Matthew  Chandler and Kyle Gonzalez face Assault  in the First Degree and Conspiracy charges.

When officers  arrived at the multi-family home,they found   24 year old Martin Salomon of Stratford  on the ground with serious  head injuries. He appeared to have fallen from a fourth  floor window to the sidewalk below.He remains  hospitalized in critical condition.

During the investigation detectives determined the victim had been assaulted.Police say the assault occurred in the apartment  from where it appeared   Salomon had fallen.
