Avon police are charging a Hartford man after they say he attacked a 14-year-old girl with whom he chatted on Facebook.  Police say 24-year-old Israel Gomez met the girl and had several subsequent conversations on Facebook and on the phone.

They say he eventually went to Avon to pick up the teen and later drove her to a parking lot in town and committed the assault.

He faces charges of risk of injury, sexual assault, and using a computer to entice a minor.  He’s being held on $250,000 bond.
