Exotic Reptiles Stolen In Pet Store Break-In

Springfield Police say five snakes and two geckos were stolen, along with laptop computers and aquarium filters,  in a break-in at a Springfield pet store over the weekend.  Police say the intruder or intruders gained entry by breaking a window.  The alarm company was notified, but police say they were not called at the time of the break-in,   around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

A pastel boa constrictor,  a Kenyon sand python, carpet python, a corn snake and an albino corn snake, and two leopard  geckos were taken in the burglary at “Dave’s Soda and Pet Food City”  at 1330 Carew Street.

Police ask anyone who has any information about the break-in, or who may know about black-market sale of reptiles, to call Springfield detectives at (413) 787-6355
