Yale Psychologist To Help Lady Gaga Anti-Bullying Project

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) _ Lady Gaga has enlisted a Yale University psychologist in her campaign to end bullying.

Marc Brackett, a research scientist, is one of seven scholars named to the advisory board of the Born This Way Foundation, which Lady Gaga established.

The New Haven Register reports  that Brackett has been working on a cyber bullying project with Facebook. This spring he’ll head up a new center at Yale devoted to teaching emotional intelligence in schools and other organizations.

Brackett, who is deputy director of Yale’s Health, Emotion and Behavior Laboratory, says understanding how to recognize and regulate emotion makes a big impact on the workplace, family life and school. It’s particularly relevant in curbing bullying.

In October, Lady Gaga’s foundation chose a professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to help with research.
