State Police say two drivers were killed in a head-on accident which closed the Wilbur Cross Parkway in Meriden in the early morning hours,  and two passengers in one of the cars were injured.  The accident closed the parkway southbound for about five and a half hours.

Police say 22-year-old Michael Heeks of Mansfield was travelling northbound in the southbound lanes near exit 66 when his Honda Accord struck a southbound Hyundai Elantra driven by 37-year-old Patrick Cimato of Lisbon Falls, Maine.  Cimato’s passengers, 47-year-old Nicholas Cimato,  and 30-year-old Ashley Robinson,  both of New York,  were taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident shortly after 2 a.m. to contact Trooper Petrailito at Troop I in Bethany, (203) 393-4200.
