CBS News: Gunman Possessed 4 Guns During Newtown Shooting

NEWTOWN, Conn. (CBS Connecticut/AP) — A law enforcement official says that the Connecticut school shooter brought three guns into the elementary school where he killed 26 children and adults, and that a fourth gun was found in the car he drove to the school.

CBS News reports that Adam Lanza had a total of four guns in his possession at the time of the shooting. The Associated Press reports that the three weapons he brought with him inside the school were registered to his slain mother.

A Glock and a Sig Sauer, both pistols, and a .223-caliber Bushmaster rifle were found in the school after the massacre Friday, according to CBS News.

A source told CBS News that a “few” other weapons were found at the mother’s home and that the tracing of the weapons is still being conducted.
