It promises to be a busy next couple of weeks for tree farmers in Connecticut.  Residents will be searching for the perfect Christmas tree and there is no shortage of farms from which to choose.

Kathy Kogut, the executive director of the Connecticut Christmas Tree Growers Association, said weather conditions have yielded an abundance of trees this year.  She said firs and blue spruce trees are among the most popular.

There are 500 tree farms in Connecticut encompassing five thousand acres, according to Kogut.  She said those venturing out should be preparing to do a lot of walking and check to see if the farm they’re visiting provides a saw.
