WILTON, Conn. (AP) _ Wilton police say a man and woman who were shot inside their home had been struggling over a rifle when it discharged.
The 47-year-old man was shot in the face Monday and suffered life-threatening injuries. The 39-year-old woman also had injuries to her face but they are not considered life-threatening.
A single gunshot is blamed for the injuries to both people.
Police say the injured woman made her way out of the house and alerted a neighbor who called for help.
Prosecutors and police are still investigating the incident. The names of the couple involved have not been released.
