Fatal Shooting In Broad Daylight In New Haven

At 12:54 p.m., New Haven police officers were dispatched to 54 Dewitt St. after calls were made to 9-1-1 reporting a man had been shot. Officers arrived and found the victim, Garry Williams, 28 of New Haven, in the driveway. He had been shot in the chest and was in cardiac arrest when EMTs arrived.

EMTs attended to the victim as he was rushed by ambulance to the Yale-New Haven Hospital. At 1:44 p.m., Williams was pronounced deceased by hospital medical staff.

Thus far, a suspect or suspects have not been identified.
