MIDDLEBURY, Conn. (AP) — A 53-year-old Connecticut man has died after falling more than 40 feet while cutting a tree during a cleanup job after Superstorm Sandy.

Authorities say Michael Pranulis of Naugatuck was up in a pine tree in Middlebury Sunday morning when he became entangled as it fell. Police say Pranulis suffered head trauma and multiple broken bones. He was pronounced dead at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury.

Police said Pranulis was working for K Landscaping when the accident happened.

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been called in to investigate.
