Governor Lifts Travel Ban

Governor Malloy Tuesday morning lifted the travel ban on Connecticut’s limited access highways.  He had instituted the truck travel ban at 11  a.m. Monday, and for all non-emergency traffic as of 1 p.m.  Tuesday, in advance of his 8:30 a.m. briefing, he lifted the ban,  but urged drivers to use caution.  “If a road appears impassable because of water, downed wires, fallen trees or other debris, do not attempt to drive through it.”

He said the open roads include Interstate 95 and the Merritt Parkway,  but urged drivers to be on the lookout for debris.
