Shelton Man Arrest On Heroin Charges

Shelton police say a man is facing charges following his arrest this morning on heroin charges.

A tactical unit comprised of officers from Shelton, Milford, Ansonia, West Haven and Orange executed a search and seizure warrant at the home of 29-year-old John Thompson.

According to police, the arrest stems from a month long investigation into the sale of  heroin in downtown Shelton.  Thompson faces a number of charges including possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of heroin within 1500 feet of a school, and four counts of risk of injury to a minor.

Police waited until three of Thompson’s four children went to school before moving in.  A fourth child was sleeping in a crib at the time.

Officers say they seized $1000.00 worth of heroin, along wtih packaging material and cash.
