DANIELSON, Conn. (AP) _ The president of Quinebaug Valley Community College has announced he will resign.
The Bulletin reports (http://bit.ly/S7JETa) that Ross Tomlin, who was hired in January 2010, announced his decision in a memo to staff on Monday.
No date or other details were available. A college spokeswoman said more information was expected to be released this week.
Tomlin oversaw initiatives at the Danielson campus such as construction of a manufacturing lab and a $22 million expansion project.
Top officials of the Board of Regents for Higher Education for the Connecticut State Colleges & Universities system apologized earlier this month for what they said was a wrong impression that they were trying to buy out community college presidents who did not support their agenda.
