HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Two men have been killed in separate train accidents in Connecticut.
Metro-North said Thursday that 21-year-old Alexander Bertrand of North Woodmere, N.Y., died after he was struck by an empty Metro-North Railroad train east of Greenwich at about 7 p.m. on Wednesday. No details were available.
Service was delayed 30 to 40 minutes on the New Haven line.
Anders said the man was treated at the scene by emergency workers and died at Stamford Hospital.
Separately, an unidentified pedestrian was struck and killed Wednesday by a freight train in Enfield.
Amtrak halted service on the New Haven-Springfield line. Amtrak owns the tracks, but does not operate the freight train.
