PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ The first of two public auctions of items formerly owned by Curt Schilling’s failed video game company, 38 Studios, has brought in $180,000.

The court-appointed receiver for 38 Studios, Richard Land, called Tuesday’s auction “robust.” It was not immediately clear Thursday how much the auction netted, after expenses.

Land said that about 950 items from electronics to furniture were sold at the former Big Huge Games, a studio in Timonium, Md., acquired by 38 Studios in 2009.

38 Studios filed for bankruptcy in June.

A second auction is taking place Tuesday at the firm’s former Providence headquarters. 38 Studios’ intellectual property, which is considered more valuable, will be auctioned off in about three months.

Rhode Island lured 38 Studios from Massachusetts with a $75 million loan guarantee.
