Police Say Passenger Fired Shot Inside Cab

Windsor Police say a Hartford man is charged with trying to rob a cab driver,  and firing a shot inside the cab when the driver closed the protective shield.

On Wednesday,  the Yellow Cab driver picked up a passenger in Hartford,  and was driving to Windsor when the suspect began behaving suspiciously and took out a handgun.  The driver closed the protective window, and continued driving,  calling his dispatcher to ask for police help. The passenger fired one shot inside the cab.

When the cab stopped near Route 218 and Interstate 291,  the passenger fled.  Windsor police arrested 34-year-old Frank Larkin of Hartford about 45 minutes later, and found the gun nearby,

Police say Frank is charged with robbery, larceny and firearms charges.
