Officials at Bradley International Airport say a flight from Florida landed safely and on time this afternoon,  after apparently hitting a bird 25 miles south of the airport.

A spokesman says Southwest Airlines Flight 2102 from Tampa landed on time and with no injuries after what the initial report says was a bird strike.

A Southwest spokesman says the plane with 125 people on board was descending on approach to Bradley when it encountered “multiple” birds.  It suffered damage to the nose and was being taken out of service.  The airline had another aircraft at Bradley available for its next departure, so there were no schedule delays.
