Hartford police have confirmed the identities of two people found shot inside an SUV which had crashed on South Whitney Street early Monday.

Police say 61-year-old Esmerito Perez-Mendez and 23-year-old Ramon Perez, both of Hartford, each suffered a single gunshot wound.   The vehicle hit a utility poll.  Police responding to a report of shots fired found found them shortly after midnight.
