Poll Finds Senate Race A Statistical Dead Heat
A new University of Connecticut/Hartford Courant poll finds a statistical dead heat in the Connecticut U.S. Senate race. It also finds a large percentage of voters who have not decided between Republican Linda McMahon and Democrat Chris Murphy.
UConn poll director Jennifer Dineen says the poll, taken last week questioned 517 likely voters. Murphy was the choice of 37 percent of those surveyed, compared to 33 percent for McMahon. The difference falls within the poll’s margin of error. Among unaffiliated voters, 48 percent said they have not decided how they would vote. (Click here to see all the results)
The poll found McMahon in the lead in the eastern part of the state, Murphy in the lead in Hartford County, and a dead heat in the western part of the state.
