A 19-year-old Higganum man faces voyeurism charges after a complaint that he tried to take pictures of a woman in a Wesleyan University shower.

Police say they were called after a complaint from a woman who said she saw a hand with a camera phone reach under the shower stall she was using in the co-ed shower room.  Police say Robert Rotaru gave a statement in which he admitted taking two pictures of the woman’s legs,  to about thigh level,  and telling her “I’m sorry” when she caught him,

He’s charged with voyeurism and disorderly conduct.

Middletown police say indications are that it was an isolated incident,  with no evidence it has happened elsewhere on campus.
