A Look into the 2012-13 Schedule – Hello Women’s Basketball Fans ! Time to slowly delve into the new season that begins 2 months from tomorrow (Nov 11th v College of Charleston) after two exhibitions with Indiana of PA and Holy Family of Philadelphia. The first road game is game two a week later at Texas A&M then to the USVI for the Paradise Jam against Wake Forest, Marist and Purdue Thanksgiving Weekend. December is chalk full of quality opponents with home dates with Maryland (Women’s Jimmy V Dec 3) and Penn State Dec 6th before exams….and three straight road games heading into the New Year. Jen Rizzotti’s Hartford Hawks welcome the Huskies to West Hartford for the first time in what will be the Hawks highest ranked opponent to play there. Then it’s out west for Stanford and Oregon..New Years Eve in Eugene ??  Well the guys will be in Milwaukee (very underrated town I’d say …really) to ring in 2013…

The conference schedule begins and ends with Notre Dame..Home Jan 5th and in South Bend March 4th in the regular season finale on senior night for Skylar Diggins… The marquee league games are home to Louisville (Jan 15) at St. John’s (Feb 2) and at Rutgers (Feb 16th)..DePaul could be entertaining (Feb 10th) in Storrs. Of course there will be two other games of note, the January 21st home game with Duke and the most anticipated game of the regular season February 18th against Baylor at the XL Center.

There is no question Baylor & UConn will be the preseason 1 & 2 teams with perhaps Duke 3rd…From a player standpoint, if you have not seen Stephanie Dolson yet, you are in for a pleasant surprise. She’s worked harder than even as promised and the results show it..A slimmed down Dolson will have major implications.

It’ll be here before you know it…count down the days and we’ll have it all for you here on WTIC and the UConn-IMG Sports Network…
