Police Now Say New Haven Woman Was Not Kidnapped

New Haven police now say a 21-year-old woman has been located —   and  they say she was not the victim of a kidnapping, after all.

Police began their investigation after a friend she was with reported he had been carjacked and assaulted by three men,  who drove off with Monaisa Francis in the vehicle.  When Police went to her home to check,  she was not there,  and they initiated a kidnapping investigation .

Police now say they found her Thursday evening and interviewed her,   and that their investigation to this point indicates she was not kidnapped.  The investigation of the assault and robbery of her friend, 32-year-old Tesfa McCaw of Bridgeport,  continues.
