An eight year old bicyclist is in critical condition after an accident in East Hartford in which he was struck by a car shortly after 11 last night.

Police say the child was taken to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and the accident reconstruction team was called to the scene on Plain Drive in East Hartford.  Police say the operator of the vehicle is charged with operating with a suspended license.
