Police Say Man Thrown Off Bus Attempted Carjacking

VERNON, Conn. (AP) _ A Massachusetts man has been charged with attempted kidnapping and attempted carjacking after police say he was thrown off a bus for creating a disturbance.

The Hartford Courant reports  that police say William C. Palma of Malden, Mass., acted irrationally and claimed to be “tested by Lucifer to find his way home.”

The 21-year-old Palma was taken to Rockville General Hospital and discharged Monday.

Police say he approached two women in the parking lot, trying to get car keys in the first incident and refusing to let go of the car in the second incident.

Palma threw himself onto the hood of a third car and rolled off.

He was ordered held on $100,000 bail.

It was not known Tuesday morning if he is represented by a lawyer.
