Clerk In Fatal Shooting Identified

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Police have identified a clerk at a convenience store in East Hartford who was fatally shot in a robbery.

Lt. Ricardo Soto identified the victim Monday as Luthfur Tarafdar of Manchester. Police found the 47-year-old man with a chest wound when they responded Saturday night.

He was declared dead at the scene.

The Hartford Courant, quoting a friend, reported that Tarafdar was from Bangladesh and had previously worked in New York as a taxi driver.

Soto said no additional details were available.
