Campus Police Say Woman’s Assault Report Was False

Authorities at the University of Connecticut now say their investigation into a report of an assault on the Storrs campus has led them to determine the original report was unfounded.

Authorities triggered the campus-wide alert notification after the original report that a woman had been struck in the head with a skateboard and then sexually assaulted,  near Swan Lake, near the intersection of North Eagleville Road and Glenbrook Road on the UConn campus,  early Saturday morning.  She says there were two to five men involved.

Campus police now say their review of security camera footage and follow-up interviews led them to determine that the report was false.
