The Mark Twain House in Hartford is the “Fan-Favorite Still Revolutionary” choice of Connecticut residents and visitors who voted on their favorite destinations at the state tourism website, according to Governor Dannel Malloy. The selection means the Twain House, on Farmington Avenue, will star in fall tourism marketing — including a digital ad and a short video documentary to run online. The fall campaign also will feature images from the western part of the state.
Malloy’s office says trafffic on the tourism website, CTvisit.com is up 100 percent and the state Office of Tourism has provided travel assistance to 51 percent more potential visitors. The number of visitors to major attractions including Mystic Seaport, Mystic Aquarium, The Mark Twain House, New England Air Museum, Essex Steam Train & Riverboat and the Maritime Aquarium is up 6.8 percent over last year at this time.
“Mark Twain’s legacy is one that continues to inspire,” said Malloy, “and it’s fitting that his house is the fan favorite in or Still Revolutionary campaign.”
