Connecticut has recorded its first human case of West Nile virus this summer.  The patient,  who is described only as being between 30 and 39,  is from New Haven,  was hospitalized, and is now home, recovering.

The State Mosquito Management Program says infected mosquitos have been trapped in New Haven and surrounding communities for the last month.

West Nile-positive mosquitoes have been found in nearly a quarter of the state’s cities and towns.

Yesterday word came of the first mosquitos confirmed with Eastern Equine Encephalitis,  in Chester.
